WELCOME TO THE SANDBOX

In a world full of brilliant colors across the globe, the beauty of its reflection can and should be evident in our literature and art. This series is designed to spark the imagination of our youth who eagerly set out to see similar representations of themselves, while simultaneously discovering and embracing the differences in others. The first book in the series, “The Sandbox,” is an introduction to the characters and their obvious physical differences. Subsequent books will travel through different cultures and navigate the stories through the children’s eyes. Showcasing the multiplicity of race and ethnicity in a complimentary light offers children of the future a greater source of positive references to which they can reflect upon as they grow. This series was birthed from an idea to dispel negative stereotypes around race and culture and to imagine a world where all ethnicities are appreciated and valued.
